The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has taken Aminu Datti Ahmed, the CEO of Blackrock Apartments & Suites Limited, to the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Jabi, Abuja. He is facing charges over an alleged N15m fraud.

The EFCC said Ahmed appeared before Justice M.S. Idris. This was arranged by the Abuja Zonal Directorate of the EFCC. He faces a one-count charge related to the alleged misappropriation of funds.
The EFCC claims Ahmed took N15m that was wrongly credited to his Taj Bank account. The money was supposed to go to Braverock Investment Limited for a property deal.
The charge states, “That you, Aminu Datti Ahmed and Blackrock Apartments & Suites Limited, sometime in 2025 at Abuja within the jurisdiction of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, dishonestly converted to your personal use the sum of N15,000,000.00, which was mistakenly credited to the Taj Bank account with account No. 0000251807 belonging to Aminu Datti Ahmed.”
The EFCC noted that this alleged crime violates Section 308 of the Penal Code Law, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, and is punishable under Section 309 of the same law.
“Ahmed pleaded not guilty to the charge,” the EFCC reported.
After his plea, N.M. Tertsua, the EFCC lawyer, requested a trial date. He also asked the court to keep the defendant in a correctional centre.
On the other hand, Ahmed's lawyer, Isyaku Musa, asked for bail. The prosecution did not oppose the bail request.
Justice Idris granted Ahmed bail set at N10m, with two sureties.
The court specified that one surety must be a businessman with a valid business certificate. This person must also sign an affidavit for the bail bond.
The court has postponed the next hearing until October 21, 2026, when the trial is set to start.
