The people of Umunneochi Local Government Area in Abia State celebrated on Tuesday. They hosted the Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, at a big civic reception. This was to show their appreciation for his efforts and love for the community.

The event saw many sons, daughters, traditional rulers, and important figures attending. This turnout showed how grateful the people are for a government that has brought hope, peace, and development back to Umunneochi.

During the reception, community leaders spoke highly of Governor Otti. They mentioned that he has appointed many talented sons and daughters of Umunneochi into key positions in his administration. They also noted that he has delivered real, people-focused projects in the area.

Key projects include:

  1. The Mbala, Umuaku, Ngodo Road, which is 11.27km long, is almost finished and will be opened soon. This road will help farming communities and improve trade.
  1. Twelve Primary Health Centres have been upgraded and equipped. This will bring quality healthcare closer to people in the grassroots.
  1. The Umualom Road was built with support from the Greater Ohafia Development Authority (GODA). This road will help people move around the area more easily.
On security, leaders reminded everyone that Umunneochi was once unsafe due to kidnappers, robbers, and ritual killers. Governor Otti changed this situation by setting up the Abia State Joint Security Taskforce, called Operation Crush. Now, peace has returned, and criminals have been dealt with.

In his speech, Governor Otti thanked the people for their support. He promised to do more for them. He assured them that more projects like roads, bridges, and hospitals are coming. The governor is known for keeping his promises and showed his commitment to continue transforming Umunneochi and Abia State as a whole.

Many people praised the governor for his strong leadership. His focus on roads, health, and security is about more than just projects. These improvements will help the economy. The Mbala, Umuaku, Ngodo Road will save time, cut costs for moving farm produce, and bring in investments. The health centres will help save lives and boost productivity. People need to support these projects to ensure they benefit future generations.

The large crowd that came to honor the governor showed a lot. It also showed that people support his administration. Several members of opposition parties switched to join the governor’s party, the Labour Party, during the event. This mass movement is a sign of confidence in the governor's work and development plans.

The people of Umunneochi have spoken clearly: they are with Dr Alex Otti. They are ready to work with his government to build a better Abia.
