Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Lawal, believes that a joint presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso has a better chance of winning the 2027 presidential election than if they run separately.

Lawal shared his views during an interview with Symfoni TV that came out on Saturday.

He said an Obi-Kwankwaso ticket would have a 70 percent chance of victory. He also mentioned that President Bola Tinubu has a 50 percent chance and that former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar would not win.

“Peter Obi will try to be fair to everybody. Peter Obi will try to do that which is right. Peter Obi, Kwankwaso, take note, I’m pairing them. I’m pairing them. Individually will be disaster, but I’m pairing them.

“So I’ll give them, on my own scale, close to like 70 percent. Again, Bola, 50. Atiku, zero,” Lawal said.

Lawal said he is sure Atiku will not win the 2027 presidential election.

“Definitely, Atiku will lose. He will, and I pray he loses. I’m not the only one, and he will lose,” he stated.

Lawal’s comments followed his disagreement with Atiku after he left the African Democratic Congress.

The former SGF has claimed that the ADC presidential primary that selected Atiku as the party’s candidate was filled with irregularities. The party has not officially acknowledged these claims.
