The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency has caught drug traffickers trying to export cocaine hidden in a wooden mortar and a modified backpack. These items were meant for China and Italy.

Femi Babafemi, the agency’s Director of Media and Advocacy, shared this information on X on Sunday.

Babafemi explained that one of the shipments had cocaine hidden inside a traditional wooden mortar. This mortar is a local tool that people use for pounding yam and grains. It was being sent to China.

The agency also reported finding another shipment of cocaine meant for Italy. This one was concealed in a false bottom of a backpack, which was hidden among lace materials.

He wrote, "Mortar is a traditional local wooden tool commonly used for pounding yams or grains but was used to conceal cocaine consignment heading to China in one of the latest seizures by #ndlea_nigeria officers who also discovered another shipment of cocaine going to Italy in the false bottom of a backpack hidden in lace materials."

He added, "Beware of every parcel you’re given to deliver. Remember the key word for liability is possession!"
