Africa Magic to Premiere ‘Hello Future Me’ on August 31

Africa Magic has set August 31 as the day to launch ‘Hello Future Me’. This show is the sequel to the 2025 romantic drama series, Dear Future Me.

The new 26-episode series will kick off at 9 p.m.

‘Hello Future Me’ will stream at West Africa Time on Africa Magic Showcase. You can catch it on DStv Channel 151 and GOtv Channel 8. New episodes will air from Monday to Friday.

Viewers can also watch the series on DStv Stream and GOtv Stream. This makes it easier for fans to follow the story outside traditional pay-TV.

What to Expect from Hello Future Me

‘Hello Future Me’ continues from where ‘Dear Future Me’ left off. The show follows Boma, played by Femi Adekanye, and Dayo, portrayed by Ruby Agwu. They are trying to move past betrayals and fix their relationship. Their past also impacts their children, Adele, played by Ejiroghene Asagba, and Banky, portrayed by Johnson Ibeh.

While the first season focused on healing, the sequel looks at the uncertain future. It explores the tough choices that come when well-laid plans fall apart.

In the new series, Adele wants to study abroad but faces money problems. She has to come back to Nigeria and live with her father’s new family.

Her return creates a tough situation. She now has to live with Dayo, her father's wife and stepmother, and Banky, her former love interest who is now her stepbrother.

Atinuke Babatunde, the executive head of content and channels at MultiChoice Nigeria, said the sequel came after the positive response to Dear Future Me.

“After the strong reaction to Dear Future Me, we’re excited to bring viewers the next chapter with Hello Future Me,” she said.

Mrs Babatunde mentioned that Africa Magic is committed to creating original productions. These stories reflect relatable Nigerian experiences and explore emotional and social issues that touch their audience.

“As we grow Africa Magic’s collection of original shows, we want to support stories that are relatable, emotionally real, and distinctly Nigerian,” she said.

“Hello Future Me shows the challenges of family, love, and ambition in a way that we believe will connect with viewers.”

The sequel mixes romance, humor, and family drama. It also tackles themes like identity, resilience, ambition, sacrifice, second chances, and life’s unpredictability.

More Than Just a Continuation

The executive producers of the series, Adeniyi Omobulejo and Allen Onyige, said it looks at what happens when the future doesn’t go as expected.

The characters are older now, and their lives are more complicated. They have to rethink their dreams and ambitions that have not turned out as they hoped.

This 26-episode romantic drama features Agwu, Adekanye, Ibeh, Asagba, and Patience Ene Ujah in the cast.

By continuing an established story and focusing on modern family and relationship issues, ‘Hello Future Me’ stands out as one of Africa Magic’s latest original dramas. The platform is working to grow its library of locally made series for Nigerian and African viewers.
